Accomplished Westminster Alumni

A tribute to Westminster's liberal arts tradition alumni are accomplished in, and contribute to, a wide range of fields including; education, research science, medicine, politics, writing, entrepreneurial enterprise, mission, mountain climbing and business.  Our most prestigious recognition awarded to accomplished alumni, the Westminster College Alumni Citation, recognizes professional accomplishment, service to Westminster and community service.  Accomplishments of graduates of 15 years or less are recognized through the presentation of the Outstanding Young Alumni Award.


2010 Recipients


Fred Evanoff '50 has achieved a long and successful career as an agent for Connecticut General Life Insurance Company.  He maintains strong connections with Westminster as a supporter of the Towering Titan Organization and is a past President of Alumni Council.  Fred supports Westminster and Erie area students through the Peter Evanoff Memorial Scholarship created in honor of Fred's brother, a Westminster graduate who gave his life in WWII.


Those who know Stephen M. Gould '74 are moved by his thoughtful leadership, compassion, integrity, wisdom, insight and faith.  He has taught Senior High Sunday School classes for more than 20 years and coordinated dozens of mission trips within the United States.  He was also instrumental in raising enough funds for World Vision to build 13 wells providing clean water for more than 20,000 people.


Directing and playing sacred music has taken John L. Wilson '70 to international venues such as Vienna, Austria and Beijing, China.  As the Director of Music for Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church in Fort Lauderdale he directed the 100 voice Chancel Choir that performed on The Coral Ridge Hour, a weekly international televised program.  John has directed most major choral works with full orchestra and has produced several recordings. 

 

The recipient of three National Sports Emmy Awards and ten Emmy nominations, Denny M. Wolfe '97 is excelling in his career as a Feature Producer for ESPN.  He also serves as a mentor for new production assistants and associate producers.  Denny extends this assistance to Westminster students, connecting them with professionals in all facets of the sports broadcasting field.
