NEW WILMINGTON, PA – A class of Westminster College students will present Brew & the Bard: An Evening of Shakespeare’s Comedy at 7 p.m. Monday, April 29, at the Hop Asylum Brewery in New Wilmington.

The students will open the night with a teaser scene from Hamlet, which will run from May 2-5 in the College’s Beeghly Theater as a senior capstone project. Students from the class and voluntary audience members will also read scenes from a series of Shakespearian comedies, including The Winter’s TaleTwelfth Night and The Tempest.

This event comes as part of the Theatre for Social Engagement cluster class’s coursework. Students in the class have been using theatre in a variety of ways to bring the community together and reflect on social issues throughout the semester.

Entrance to the event is free and open to the public. While the Shakespearian comedy will be free, drinks and food can be purchased from the brewery.
