Ulmer Elected President of Pennsylvania Federation of Music Clubs

Mary Ellen Ulmer, music librarian at Westminster College, was elected to a two-year term as president of the Pennsylvania Federation of Music Clubs (PFMC) at the 79th annual convention held in Monroeville.

Ulmer, who has been with Westminster College since 1993, is a graduate of Clarion University and Peters Township High School. She is currently the secretary of the Westminster Conference on Worship and Music, which is sponsored by the Presbyterian Association of Musicians. Ulmer has also served as a missionary under the Presbyterian Church National Mission Board at Wasatch Academy in Mt. Pleasant, Utah.

PFMC has 25 senior clubs throughout Pennsylvania with over 500 members. These senior clubs sponsor over 200 junior organizations, and sponsor nine music festivals a year throughout the state with over 4, 000 participants. PFMC fosters talented musicians providing scholarships and awards for performance, composition, music education and music therapy.
