Westminster College alumnus Zachary Fryda ’19 will discuss his research of pediatric blood lead levels at an on-campus epidemiology lecture at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 11, in the Dietz-Sullivan Room of the Hoyt Science Center.
Fryda will discuss his research “Associations between Pediatric Blood Lead Levels and Social Determinants of Health in Chemung County, New York.”
Currently a medical student at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM)-Bradenton, Fryda is working towards his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree. He is pursuing a residency training program in pediatric medicine with aspirations to become a pediatric hematologist/oncologist.
Fryda has completed didactic training in Bradenton, Fla., clerkship training in Elmira, N.Y., and is spending his fourth year traveling between pediatric institutions including Cincinnati Children’s, St. Louis Children’s, Norton Children’s in Louisville, MUSC Shawn Jenkins Children’s in Charleston and The Ohio State University-Nationwide Children's.
Fryda’s visit is sponsored by the Westminster College biology department.
