Meet Gianna Collins '21

Meet Gianna Collins, a December 2021 Business Administration graduate from Butler, Pennsylvania.

Tell us about your upcoming internship at Disney and how it aligns with what you have learned at Westminster?
I will be going to Walt Disney World to participate in the Disney College Program and will work for the company from February to September. One thing that I learned at Westminster that greatly benefited me in this experience is the power of networking. Without learning how to properly network and the value of it, I would not have this incredible opportunity. I will be working at either a park or a resort (I won’t know my exact location until about a month before my arrival), but it will be a chance for me to use my skills that I learned at Westminster.
 
How do you hope this experience will set you up for future success?
From the time I was little, I knew I wanted to work for Disney and the Walt Disney Company. Having gone to Walt Disney World multiple times, I have seen the Disney magic firsthand, and I want to be able to create that same magic for other guests. This experience, hopefully, will be a steppingstone for me to further my career in the company.
 
Are you familiar with or know of any other alumni who have done an internship at Disney?
I have heard of a few alumni who have done an internship at Disney or the college program, and it makes me so excited! Knowing that former students have had similar experiences to me makes me excited for my opportunity with the company as well.
 
What has been a highlight of your time at Westminster?
Being a student in the School of Business has been such a joy and has brought me so much happiness. My professors have supported me in and out of the classroom, and I met so many people that I know will be in my life for a very long time. I know that I would not be who I am today without Westminster College and the experiences that I gained from it.
