A Westminster College senior finance major was one of a dozen virtual interns from across the country who trained with  Resources Global Professionals (RGP)—a publicly traded mid-sized management consulting firm.

Lauryn Todd of Lisbon, Ohio went out of her comfort zone to take on an eight-week virtual internship over the summer supporting RGP’s Southern California and Hawaii revenue teams. Todd specifically updated data housed in the company’s sales platform, Salesforce.

“Although this work does not directly relate to my finance major, I got exposed to how a consulting company operates and the issues clients face,” said Todd.

During the course of the eight weeks, Todd was tasked with researching nearly 6,000 client accounts to validate that RGP had the correct information in their database. She successfully completed 4,000 account updates and then created a step-by-step guide for the next person in her role.

Todd was the first to tackle data clean-up in the Southern California market as they were the first in the company to start the data clean-up process.

After her internship was complete, Todd led a training session within the company for the revenue team to create sustainable business practices regarding updates of client account data.

“The financial analyst program was great at preparing me for this internship experience,” said Todd. “It taught me to do a lot of digging online and how to ask questions about what I was finding.”

When the eight weeks were up for her internship Todd still managed to stay connected with her co-workers through LinkedIn requests.

“I met so many amazing people at RGP and they gave me great advice to help me in the next step of my career,” says Todd.

As post-grad life quickly approaches, Todd has already accepted a full-time position with Ernst & Young in their transfer pricing division based in Pittsburgh.
