[Your Name] has invited you to Alumni Volunteer Opportunity - Poverty Simulation!

[Recipient's Name],

The Poverty Simulation is an opportunity for students to participate and learn more about what it means to live in poverty.  Westminster's Drinko Center and Lawrence County Community Action Partnership co-sponsor the event to give students an opportunity to role-play as individulas living below the federal poverty level.  Participants will role-play by using community resources toprovice shelter, food, clothing, education and utilities for four 15-minute "weeks" during the simulation.

The goal of the simulation is for participants to leave with an understanding of the struggles that impoverished individuals face.  Click here for a short Simulation Promo from last year.  Two hundred and fifty students participated in last year's Poverty Simulation.

Your Role:  You will be assigned a role to play in the simulation.  Two sessions are held during the event.  Session I: 3:30 - 5 p.m. and Session II: 5 - 6:30 pm.  Each simulation is broken down into four 15-minutes "weeks" followed by a debriefing. You may participate in one or both sessions.
