School of Music Alumnus Receives Teaching Award

Westminster College alumnus Cody Floyd '14 was awarded the 2017 Pennsylvania/Delaware String Teachers Association (PADESTA) Outstanding NEW String Teacher Award. He received the award at PADESTA's annual luncheon meeting at the Pennsylvania Music Education Association state conference in Erie, PA, on Thursday, April 20. PADESTA is the state chapter of the American String Teachers Association (ASTA).

Westminster College Jazz Ensemble Presents Spring Music with Friends Concert

The Westminster College Jazz Ensemble presents their Spring Music with Friends on Sunday, April 30th at 3pm, in Berlin Lounge located in the McKelvey Campus Center. The Jazz Ensemble will be joined by the Westminster College Chamber Singers, under the direction of Dr. Samuel Barbara, and the Conneaut Area Blue Note Jazz Band, under the direction of Mr. Glenn Cameron.

Dr. Melinda Crawford Perttu Publishes Violinist’s Guide to Scottish Fiddling

Crawford Perttu, assistant professor of music and former U.S. National Scottish Fiddling Champion, recently published a book entitled "A Violinist's Guide to Scottish Fiddling," published by Mel Bay Publications.  Mel Bay is a leading publisher of music books that offer instruction in various instrumental musical genres.

Westminster College presents "A Spring Music Festival: A Friends of Music Gala Concert" on Friday, April 28, 2017 at 7:30 p.m. in Orr Auditorium at Westminster College. There will be performances from the Westminster College Jazz Ensemble, Chamber Singers and Westminster College Symphony Orchestra. The music festival is free and open to all.

Westminster College Combined Choirs Present Spring Concert

All four Westminster College choirs will be represented at the concert, which will also serve as a farewell to the graduating seniors. The concert is Sunday, April 23, 2017 at 3 p.m. in the Wallace Memorial Chapel at Westminster College; free and open to all.

Westminster College Wind Ensemble to Perform at Scottish Rite Cathedral in New Castle

The Westminster College Wind Ensemble, under the direction of Dr. R. Tad Greig will perform at the famed Scottish Rite Cathedral located at 110 East Lincoln Avenue New Castle, PA 16101 on Friday, March 31, 2017 at 7:30 PM. The ensemble will be assisted by the Shenango Valley Chorale and faculty artist Dr. Nancy Zipay DeSalvo. The concert will present an amazing array of the finest music for winds in one of the region’s most beautiful performance halls. The concert will be free to all with a free-will donation being accepted.

Westminster College Choral Department Hosts "Brothers, Sing On Men's Choral Festival"
