Westminster College Signs Articulation Agreement with BC3

Butler County Community College (BC3) signed an articulation agreement with Westminster College today allowing BC3 students to transfer credits towards earning a bachelor's degree from Westminster College.

"The two program agreements provide a seamless transfer of credits that allows our students the opportunity to complete the second two years of a four year degree. The uniqueness of both of these programs will allow our students excellent options to further their education," said Bill Miller, Dean of Humanities and Social Sciences at BC3. 

The BC3 transfer programs and Westminster programs included in the agreement are: Early Childhood Education (Pre K-4), Associate of Arts to Early Childhood/Special Education, Bachelor of Arts and Child Development Education, Associate of Arts and Sciences to Child and Family Studies, Bachelor of Arts.

"The School of Education is pleased to be able to provide an avenue for BC3 students interested in Early Childhood Education and Special Education K-8 and Child and Family Studies to transition into a four year degree granting program without losing any credits. We believe the partnership is especially attractive because students in the Early Childhood/Special Education program will be dual certified upon completion of graduation requirements," said Amy Camardese, Chair, School of Education at Westminster College.

Dr. Bruce Russell, Vice President of Academic Affairs at BC3, met with Richard H. Dorman, President of Westminster, to sign the agreement at BC3 at Lawrence Crossing in New Castle. Representatives from both institutions were in attendance.

“This agreement provides a great opportunity for BC3 students, especially those who attend BC3 @ Lawrence Crossing. Early Childhood Education is one of the associate degree programs available at Lawrence Crossing, so this agreement gives students an outstanding transfer option that allows them to stay close to home,” said Bob Morris, Dean of Admissions at BC3.
