Two New Members Elected to Westminster College's Board of Trustees

The Westminster College Board of Trustees welcomed eight members to the Class of 2018.

New to the Board in 2014 are Ralph A. Dise Jr. '74 and Thomas K. Ritter '78.  

Dise earned an MBA from Bowling Green State University and is president and chief executive officer of Dise and Company Inc. in Shaker Heights, Ohio.  He sits on the boards of Aexcel Corporation, Roots of American Music, Culver Summer School Alumni Association and the Westminster College Alumni Association.  He actively serves the Forest Hill Church and several community organizations.  He and his wife, Karen, live in Shaker Heights and are the parents of three children.  

Ritter is president and chief executive officer with A. E. Stone, Inc. in Egg Harbor Township, N.J.  He is a former board member and past president of Mainland Regional High School; board member and past chair of the Shore Medical Center Health Foundation; past board member of the Literacy Volunteers of Atlantic County; and board member of Cape Banking and the J. Wood Platt Caddie Scholarship Trust.  He and his wife, Lisa '78, live in Linwood, N.J., and are the parents of a son and a daughter.

Robin W. Gooch '75, Wayne A. Miller '61 and Glenn H. Thompson '68 were elected to their second consecutive four-year terms, while Peter M. Andino '77, Gary D. Brown '71 and Linda W. Simpson '81 rejoined the Board after a one-year absence.

Three new faculty associate trustees were elected for 2014: Timothy Cuff '78, professor of history and chair of Westminster's Department of Religion, History, Philosophy and Classics; Patrick D. Krantz, associate professor of education and director of the Drinko Center for Experiential Learning; and Katherine L. Robertson, associate professor of biology.

Newly elected student associate trustees Maria M. McTighe and Bret Zimmerman join senior classmate Christian P. Friday, who was appointed to his second one-year term.

McTighe, a sociology major, is a daughter of David and M. Theresa McTighe of Butler and a graduate of Knoch High School.

Zimmerman, a history major, is a son of Mark and Colleen Zimmerman of Sykesville and a graduate of DuBois Area High School.

Friday, a political science and religion major, is a son of Brian and Michele Friday of Bethel Park and a graduate of Bethel Park High School.

Completing the board as an associate trustee is Karen L. Emmett '75, president of Westminster's Alumni Council.  She is retired from the West Middlesex School District.

Three former trustees earned emeritus status: James C. Dewar '59, president of Jidola, Inc.; Ann H. Haldeman '48, retired from E. F. Haldeman and Associates; and Carolyn J. Jones '58, director of field education at Pittsburgh Theological Seminary.
