Westminster College will host a "Canoe-a-Thon" Sunday, April 3, from 1-5 p.m. at Brittain Lake.

Proceeds from the $3 canoe rides around Brittain Lake will be donated to the Pittsburgh AIDS Taskforce.  Sponsors Alpha Phi Omega will also have food and games available at nearby Anderson Amphitheater.

"We are expecting a speaker from the Pittsburgh AIDS Taskforce (PATF)," said Jolene Slattery, junior broadcast communications major from Ridgway and public relations chair.  "There will also be music, open canoeing, and canoe races with an appearance from Miss Canoe to hand out the prizes for the winners."

Alpha Phi Omega is a national coed service fraternity dedicated to leadership, friendship and service with over 600 chapters across the country, and is open to all students.
