Chapel Speaker to Observe John Calvin's 500th Birthday

Westminster College will host Dr. Donald McKim at Vesper worship service Sunday, March 29, at 7 p.m., and as Chapel speaker Monday, March 30, at 11:40 a.m. in observance of John Calvin's 500th birthday. Both services will be in Wallace Memorial Chapel and are open to the public.

The Sunday evening service will feature music by Westminster's Concert Choir under the direction of Dr. Robin Lind, Westminster associate professor of music and director of choral activities.

McKim, a 1971 Westminster alumnus who graduated cum laude with honors in religion, is executive editor for theology and reference for Westminster John Knox Press in Tennessee.

He has served on the faculties of Memphis Theological Seminary, University of Dubuque Theological Seminary, Eastern Baptist Seminary, Columbia Seminary's Center for Theological Studies, Colgate Rochester Divinity School, and Rhodes College.

McKim is the author or co-author of 14 books, including The Authority and Interpretation of the Bible: An Historical Approach, that was selected Book of the Year by Eternity magazine and named one of the five best books in religion in the 1980 American Book Awards. He has edited 14 books and published over 60 articles and 400 book reviews.
