Chemistry Professor to Speak on Mercury Issues

Dr. Helen Boylan, Westminster College associate professor of chemistry, is scheduled to be a guest speaker at two events in October.

She will speak about "Life Cycle Mercury Analysis for the Coal Power Plant Industry" at the 20th international Activated Carbon conference Oct. 19 in Pittsburgh.

Her second engagement will be for the Slippery Rock University Chemistry Department seminar program Oct. 26. Her presentation will be "Current Issues in Environmental Mercury Pollution."

Boylan, who has been with Westminster since 2001, earned an undergraduate degree from Westminster College and Ph.D. from Duquesne University.
