The second annual New Wilmington Community Arts and Heritage Festival is scheduled Friday-Sunday, Aug. 6-8 at various locations throughout the town and on the Westminster College campus.

"It's hard to believe, but this year the festival has grown both in size and enthusiasm," said New Wilmington Area Chamber of Commerce President Tim Kelly.  "But, there's still time and space available for artists."

Many of the events such as the opening ceremony, bands, voice performances, juggling and unicycle performances, as well as several types of dance performances will be held on the community stage located in the parking lot of Jameson Health Place. The Shenango on the Green is host to various authors and more musical presentations, while still more musical productions can be heard in the artist's area located near Westminster's Old Main building.

The festival also features a tour of the Westminster College Field Station and Nature Trail, and a chance to get up close and personal with human and animal mummies at the Hoyt Science Resources Center. While traveling down Market Street, visitors may catch a glimpse of the 25-mile bike race, hear bag pipers, see a clown do balloon sculpting, and have the opportunity catch a trolley to view the country side.

The event is made possible by the cooperation of  the New Wilmington Area Chamber of Commerce, The Hoyt Institute of Fine Arts, and Westminster College.
