The Westminster College Wind Ensemble will perform at the 2024 Pennsylvania Music Educators Association Annual In-Service Conference at 2:30 p.m. Friday, April 19, at the Bayfront Convention Center in Erie, Pa.

This will mark the fourth time that Westminster’s Wind Ensemble has been chosen to perform at the PMEA conference. Selected through a blind audition process from ensemble recordings, the 40-member ensemble is under the direction of Dr. R. Tad Greig.

“What I am most proud of is that the selections have no connection to the size of the institutions. Our submitted recordings are compared to colleges and universities of all sizes, with the selection committees choosing the ensembles based upon the quality of their performance,” said Greig, who founded the Wind Ensemble in 1997.

In February, the Wind Ensemble performed at the College Band Directors National Association (CBDNA) Eastern Regional Conference at Cornell University in Ithaca, N.Y.

The Wind Ensemble is open to all Westminster students and the group performs a wide variety of challenging established and new works. For more information about the ensemble, please contact Greig at greigrt@westminster.edu or 724-946-7279.
