"I hear and I forget. I see and I remember. I do and I understand." — Chinese Proverb
Service-learning is an educational method in which the service is integrated into the course curriculum and requires that the students reflect on their service activity. Service-Learning incorporates the mission of the College in the classroom allowing students to grasp "real-life" experiences in their field of study, while meeting community needs through service. Every semester new and exciting courses are offered at Westminster incorporating a service-learning component into the curriculum. Many Westminster Faculty include service-learning components. A good start is with the people designed as a Service-Learning Faculty Fellow by clicking on the SLFF link on the left.
Service-Learning Faculty Fellows are those dedicated educators at Westminster College who make a commitment to incorporate a service-learning component into at least one of their courses. The SLFF program supports the design and implementation of individual courses as well as establishes an on-going commitment to increasing the number of faculty who are knowledgeable of and committed to service-learning. Westminster College is proud of all those educators who are or have been a Faculty Fellow.
