NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – Westminster College juniors Nate Reed and Lloyd Chatman attended the Pennsylvania Sports Business Conference at Indiana University of Pennsylvania on April 5 where they presented their research. They were joined by fellow juniors Kevin Hart and Ricky Roth, as well as senior Chelsea Gregley.

The conference focused on “Beyond Sports: Impacting the Community.” Speakers from professional sports, collegiate athletics, the sporting goods industry, the health and fitness industry and other areas of sports management were present for round tables and educational sessions on a variety of related topics.

Reed and Chatman presented their research with Dr. Robert Zullo, associate professor and director of the Sports Management Program. Their research examined best practices in Division III career centers through a poster presentation. Hart and Roth, along with Dr. Zullo, presented an overview of their major’s collaboration with the Crisis Shelter of Lawrence Country where the students and their classmates hosted a Walk a Mile in Her Shoes event on the Westminster College campus.

In addition to the two presentations, Gregley earned the conference’s recognition for Best Research Award, beating out many candidates from throughout the Commonwealth.

Students in the sports management major at Westminster College annually attend five to six conferences, including some out of state, for networking and their professional development. For more information contact Dr. Robert Zullo, program director, at 724-946-6835 or zullorh@westminster.edu.
