Westminster College Symphony Orchestra to Present Christmas Pops! Concert

The Westminster College Symphony Orchestra will present its Christmas Pops! concert Sunday, Nov. 20, at 3 p.m. in Orr Auditorium. The program is free and open to the public.

Under the direction of Dr. Melinda Crawford Perttu, assistant professor of music, the orchestra’s selections will include: “Christmas on Broadway,” arranged by Higgins; Rebikov’s “Christmas Tree Waltz;” Bavel’s arrangement of “Hanukkah Rhapsody;” “Christmas Bells,” arranged by Krogstad; “Mad Russian’s Christmas,” arranged by Trans-Siberian Orchestra/Phillips; and Sheldon’s “A Most Wonderful Christmas.”

Students in the orchestra will be joined by Westminster faculty Dr. Robert Knop, associate professor of physics, playing viola and music adjunct Corey Palmer playing bass, as well as musicians from the community.
