Westminster College will feature “Another Dimension” gallery exhibition of mixed media drawings by artist Jennifer Guest now through March 4. An artist reception will take place Wed., Feb. 3 from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at the Foster Art Gallery in Patterson Hall. The exhibition and reception are free and open to the public.

While receiving her formal education, Guest worked in shopping malls, theme parks, and as a birthday party hostess. Her work is influenced by these experiences and by paperback cover illustrations, didactic drawings and dioramas, Aztec and Maya codices, catalog photographs of consumer goods, conceptual texts and postmodern fiction, African sign paintings, and the work of the Flemish Primitives.

“Through narrative pictorial images, I represent the quest for meaning as told through the consciousness of a central protagonist and her search for a metaphysical cosmology,” said Guest. “My story is composed of loosely connected situations, each one more or less self-contained, abandoning strict chronology, and characterizing the essence of the human being as eternal and present in every possible world and at every possible time.”

The gallery is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Mon. through Fri.
