Westminster College’s Department of English invites students to participate in Punctuated by Pizza Grammar Workshop at 11:40 p.m., November 11 in the HUB of McGill Library.

“Clarity in writing is essential, and inaccurate punctuation can greatly inhibit how clearly we are able to communicate our ideas,” said Dr. Kristianne Vaccaro, associate professor of English.”

The workshop will be a comfortable, casual setting at the HUB that will make use of the new space and integrate technology. Kat St. Pierre and Olivia Martin, two upperclassmen English majors, will give a brief, interactive presentation about punctuation and then work one-on-one with participants to help them apply the presented information to their own writing.

“Peer tutoring can be a wonderfully meaningful, productive service, and we do a great job of providing it on campus at the Learning Center,” continued Vaccaro. “For students who've never gone to the Center or are reluctant to schedule a one-on-one session there, these workshops can be a great introduction to the services that are available to them. It is our hope that workshop participants will schedule follow-up sessions at the Center.”

For more information about the workshop, contact Vaccaro at vaccarkk@westminster.edu or (724) 946-7350.
