Westminster College's Planetarium Announces December Programs

The Westminster College Planetarium will host two shows this December.  

"Mystery of the Christmas Star," recommended for ages eight and up, will be shown Saturday, December 6, at 3:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. and Saturday, December 13, at 6:30 p.m.  Journey back 2000 years to Bethlehem and discover a scientific explanation for the Star the wise men followed to find their way to baby Jesus. Participants will investigate possible dates for the birth of Christ and look at recorded sightings of significant astronomical events during this time.

"Let it Snow," recommended for all ages, will be shown Saturday, December 6, at 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. and Saturday, December 13, at 8 p.m.  Explore a variety of Christmas songs visually enhanced with theatrical animation and scenery on the fulldome screen. And, before the show begins, attendees will receive a live tour of winter constellations in the night skies over Western, Pa.
