​Westminster College Students and Adviser Attended Iroquois Club Seminar

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - Five Westminster College students attended the 34th Iroquois Club economic seminar April 16 in Conneaut Lake.  They were accompanied by their faculty adviser Dr. Daniel Fischmar, professor of economics and business.

The seminar offered students the opportunity to discuss the views of the speakers.  Mark Sniderman, executive vice president and chief policy officer of the Cleveland Federal Reserve Bank, shared staff changes in the Federal Reserve System. Wayne Nordberg, chairman and chief investment officer and partner of Hollow Brook Associates in New York City, presented an assessment of investment opportunities in the U.S. David Shribman, executive editor for the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, presented on understanding politics.

"Students enjoyed meeting the conference's financial professionals and analyzing their predictions, using the knowledge and techniques acquired in their classes," Fischmar said.

Westminster students who attended were:

Joshua Auden, a recent graduate with a bachelor of science in business administration, is a son of Albert and Kathy Auden of Lake Milton, Ohio, and a graduate of Jackson Milton High School.

Julie Bearer, a senior mathematics major, is a daughter of Vincent and Linda Bearer of Acme and a graduate of Mount Pleasant Area High School.

Harry Bittle, a recent graduate with a bachelor of science in financial economics, is a son of Robert and Marianne Bittle of Sicklerville, N.J., and a graduate of Winslow Township High School.

Travis Kelly, a recent graduate with a bachelor of science in business administration, is a son of Timothy and Sharon Kelly and a graduate of Wilmington Area High School.

Dakota Marti, a junior business administration major, is a son of James and Mary Marti and a graduate of Wilmington Area High School.
