Westminster College Visiting Professor of Art Has Artwork Displayed in Kentucky

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - Summer Zickefoose, Westminster College visiting assistant professor of art, has two pieces of artwork that are displayed and were curated into exhibitions in Kentucky.

"Visiting (Belfast), 2010" is included in the Approach exhibition at the Lexington Art League. Artwork at this exhibition explores situations of separateness and/or the search for harmony as a theme in performance art. Works in this show focus on engagement with self, the audience and/or the surrounding environment. The exhibition runs until Nov. 20.

"And How to Scald a Pig, 2011" is included in the New Country: Ruralism in Contemporary Art exhibition at the Claypool-Young Art Gallery at Morehead State University. This exhibition features works of all media that reference and/or are inspired by current or historical ideas of rural life and the pastoral American culture. This exhibition also runs until Nov. 20.

Zickefoose, who joined the faculty in 2010, earned undergraduate degrees from The University of Iowa and master's degree from The University of Florida.
