Westminster College Students Awarded Scholarships from The Pittsburgh Foundation

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - Nine Westminster College students recently received scholarships through The Pittsburgh Foundation.  All awards will be applied to the students' tuition for the 2012-2013 academic year.

Freshman biology major Laura Johnston received a $5,000 award funded by the Nimick/Hansen Employee Scholarship Fund.  She is a daughter of William and Loretta Johnston of Blairsville and a graduate of Derry Area High School.

Freshman exploratory major Kelly Klaas received a $529 award funded by the Katherine and Emma Uhlinger Trust Fund.  She is a daughter of Michael and Karen Klaas of Springdale and a graduate of Springdale High School.

Four students each received a $3,090 scholarship from the Ann M. Kendlehart Scholarship Fund:

Sierra Bell, a junior international business and Spanish major, is a daughter of A. Duwayne and Stephanie Bell of New Castle and a graduate of New Castle High School.

August Santillo, a sophomore accounting major, is a son of August and Kimberly Santillo of Springdale and a graduate of Briar Woods High School.

Abigail Schulz, a senior accounting and business administration major, is a daughter of Richard and Susan Schulz of Saxonburg and a graduate of Hampton High School.

Kimberly Stickney, a senior accounting major, is a daughter of James and Roxann Stickney of Fenelton and a graduate of Butler Area High School.

Three students received awards from the William J. Wolf Memorial Scholarship Fund:

Evan Del Bene, a senior accounting major, received the final payment of a $12,000 four-year scholarship.  He is a son of Michael and Rosemary Del Bene of Bethel Park and a graduate of Bethel Park High School.

Sarah Mohn, a junior psychology major, received the third payment of a $12,000 four-year scholarship.  She is a daughter of Sherri Mohn of Pittsburgh and a graduate of Fox Chapel Area High School.

Chloe Stanczak, a senior early childhood education/special education major, received the final payment of a $12,000 four-year scholarship.  She is a daughter of Richard and Nancy Stanczak of Pittsburgh and a graduate of Shaler Area High School.

"We are grateful to The Pittsburgh Foundation and their scholarship funds for their support of bright, motivated students, who represent the future of our region," said Gloria Cagigas, Westminster's vice president for institutional advancement.
