Chamber Singers and Concert Choir to Present Fall Concert Nov. 22

The Westminster College Chamber Singers and Concert Choir will present "Sing Joyfully" Sunday, Nov. 22, at 3 p.m. in Wallace Memorial Chapel. The concert is free and open to the public.

Under the direction of Dr. Robin Lind, Westminster associate professor of music and director of choral activities, the Chamber Singers are accompanied by Amanda Gentzel, and Christopher Granger accompanies the Concert Choir.

The Concert Choir will premiere "It is a Beauteous Evening," composed by Dr. Daniel Perttu, Westminster assistant professor of music, with soloists Leah Timm and Andrew McMurray.

The choir's program includes Dominick Argento's "So I'll Sing with My Voice," featuring soloists Deanna Owens and James Cochran, and Dale Warland's arrangement of the Shaker dance song "Simple Gifts," with flutist Erin Thompson and guitarist Susan Davidson.

The Chamber Singers will offer a variety of music, including Byron J. Smith's "Worthy to be Praised" with soloists Claudia Brown and Alison Paden.

Lind, who has been with Westminster since 2000, earned her undergraduate degree from the College of Idaho, a master's from the University of Oregon, and Ph.D. from the University of Utah.
