Biology Major Receives Grant for Undergraduate Research

Posted on Wednesday, September 24, 2008

David Dado, a Westminster College senior biology major, received an undergraduate research grant from Westminster's Drinko Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning.

His research, "Does Regular, Intense Exercise Improve Visuospatial Abilities of College-age Females by Increasing Testosterone Levels?," is advised by Dr. John Robertson, Westminster associate professor of biology.

Dado is a son of Robert and Mary Dado of New Castle and a graduate of Shenango High School.

"An important component of the work of the Drinko Center is to enhance opportunities for undergraduate research," said Dr. Terri Lenox, Westminster College associate professor of computer science and co-director of the Drinko Center. "The Undergraduate Research Initiative provides funding for students to conduct research and to present their research at regional and national conferences."

All grant recipients have the opportunity to participate in Westminster's Undergraduate Research Symposium in April.
