Three Westminster College staff members, an alumna, and one student are involved in the New Castle Playhouse production of J. M. Barrie's Echoes of the War June 6-22.

Dr. Neal Edman, Westminster dean of student affairs, is producing the two one-act plays, which are directed by Dr. Scott Mackenzie, Westminster assistant professor of theatre. Caryn Nicholson, a 2003 Westminster graduate who majored in theatre, is associate director.

Featured in starring roles are Westminster assistant professor of business Dr. Jacque King and junior English major David Lynch.

Lynch is a son of Daniel and Diane Lynch of New Castle and a graduate of Neshannock High School.

"In 'The Old Lady Shows Her Medals,' a Scottish charwoman invents a soldier son serving at the front in World War I to impress her friends, and is surprised when he actually appears on her doorstep," explained Mackenzie. "'The New Word' comically tells the story of a stuffy upper-class English father trying to communicate his deep feelings to his equally proper son as the young man prepares to go to war."

Show times are Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m., Sundays at 2 p.m.
