Mortar Board and Kappa Delta Pi, Westminster College honor societies, are collaborating to collect new and gently used books during November.

The drive will benefit the Walker Neighborhood House, Farrell Elementary School, and the Crisis Center in New Castle. The emphasis is on children's books, but books for adults are also accepted.

Collection boxes will be located in all residence halls and academic buildings on campus, as well as several businesses in New Wilmington. Monetary donations will be accepted and pick up can be arranged.

Student coordinators for the drive are Jack Marti, a senior psychology-human resources major from New Wilmington, and Catherine Bishop, a junior elementary education major from Red Lion.

Mortar Board recognizes senior students with leadership, scholarship, and service skills.

Kappa Delta Pi membership includes the top 20 percent of students seeking teacher certification.

Contact Marti (e-mail martija@westminster.edu) or Bishop (e-mail bishopcn@westminster.edu) for additional information, cash donations, or to arrange pick up of books.
