Internationally acclaimed concert pianist and arranger Mac Frampton and the Hollywood Hills Orchestra will appear at Westminster's Orr Auditorium Saturday at 8 p.m.
The second in the Celebrity Series' 40th anniversary season, "And the Winner Is - Oscar's Memorable Moments" features Oscar Award-winning songs from past years and is sponsored by First National Bank of Pennsylvania. Joining Frampton are vocalists Lee Lessack and Joanne O'Brien of Broadway, concert hall, and cabaret fame.
Frampton started playing the piano at age three and made his professional debut at age eight. As a student, he gained international fame as a medal-winning semi-finalist in the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition. His unique style is based on classical technique, drawing liberally from jazz and rock.
In nearly 30 years and thousands of concerts, Frampton remains committed to a fundamental belief: Music is a powerful form of communication, often able to reach a listener on a deeper level than verbal expression.
Good seats are still available. Contact Connie McGinnis, assistant director of the Celebrity Series, at (724) 946-7354 or e-mail mcginncl@westminster.edu for tickets or visit www.westminster.edu/Celebrity for additional information.
