Westminster College was well represented at the Joint Mathematics meetings in New Orleans.
"Westminster was well represented at the governing meeting of this national organization," said Dr. Barbara Faires, Westminster professor of mathematics. "There were 5,200 attending this meeting, the largest convention in New Orleans since Katrina."
Attending the meeting were: Dr. John Bonomo, associate professor of computer science; Dr. Carolyn Kidder Cuff, a 1978 Westminster graduate, professor of mathematics and chair of the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science; Faires, who presented the final report of the Revenue Strategic Planning Group which she chaired; Dr. Judith Price Palagallo, a 1969 Westminster graduate and professor emerita, Department of Theoretical and Applied Mathematics at the University of Akron; Dr. David Carothers, a 1975 Westminster graduate and professor and chair of the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at James Madison University; and Dr. Pamela Richardson, Westminster assistant professor of mathematics and a member of the National Project NExT group that provides faculty development for new faculty.
Faires, Carothers, and Palagallo are members of the 58-person Mathematics Association of America Board of Governors.
