Public Relations Major Receives Scholarship

Lurene McDonald, freshman public relations major at Westminster College, recently received the Eugene and Nell Petrucci Scholarship.

This $3,235 scholarship, funded by The Pittsburgh Foundation, was applied to her tuition for the 2006-2007 academic year.

"We are grateful to the Eugene and Nell Petrucci Scholarship Fund and The Pittsburgh Foundation for their support of bright, motivated students like Ms. McDonald, who represent the future of our region," said Gloria Cagigas, vice president for institutional advancement at Westminster.

The Pittsburgh Foundation is one of the oldest community foundations in the U.S., and the nation's 16th largest. The Foundation works to improve the quality of life in the region by evaluating and addressing community issues, promoting philanthropy, and connecting donors to the critical needs of the community.

McDonald is a daughter of James and Shari McDonald, Hickory, and a graduate of Fort Cherry High School.
