Shafer's presentation, "Object-Oriented Programming" examines the basic principles of object-oriented programming and gives some examples.
"Object-oriented programming has played a dominant role in industry innovation in software design and construction," said Shaffer. "In addition to examining the basic principles, I will also address the significance of object-oriented programming in the programming industry and in computer science education."
Shafer, who has been with Westminster College since 2000, earned his undergraduate degree from Stevens Institute of Technology, and his Ph.D. from the University of Pittsburgh.
