Westminster Student Receives Public Relations Award

Posted on Tuesday, November 12, 2002

Amanda Kengersky, a senior public relations and English major at Westminster College, recently received the Renaissance Award from the Pittsburgh Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America.

The Renaissance Award recognizes the outstanding Western Pennsylvania Undergraduate student in public relations for 2002, and is based on academic achievements, extracurricular involvement, letters of endorsement, and an essay.

Kengersky received this award and the $1,000 scholarship that accompanies it at a Nov. 12 dinner hosted by the Public Relations Society at the Pittsburgh Sheraton at Station Square.

Kengersky is a daughter of Edward and Donna Kengersky, R.D. 7, Punxsutawney. She is an associate member of the Westminster College Board of Trustees, secretary of the Westminster College charter of the Public Relations Society of America, a tour guide for the Student Westminster Admissions Team, and former editor-in-chief of the Argo, Westminster's yearbook.

This is the second time in the last three years that a Westminster student has won the award. Meghan Duda, a 2001 graduate, who is currently the campaign finance director for Pennsylvania Representative English, was honored with the Renaissance Award two years ago.
