Dr. William Evans, associate professor of education at Westminster College, recently co-authored "Computer Assisted Live Supervision in College Counseling Centers," which was published in the fall issue of the Journal of College Counseling.
"The article was a description of how supervisors can use computers to communicate with novice counseling students, while the students are actually providing counseling services with their clients," said Evans. "I worked with Kenneth Miller from Youngstown State University and Susan Miller from Temple University on this project."
Evans recently made two presentations at the Association for Counselor Education and Supervision in Park City, Utah. The were titled "Reaching Through the Wall: The Technology Revolution in Live Counselor Supervision" and "How Many Birds with One Stone? A Multi-layered Supervision Practicum Experience for Counselor Trainees and Supervision Students." Evans also presented "Optimizing Emotional Arousal in Brief Therapy" at the annual Pennsylvania Counseling Association Conference held at Pennsylvania State University.
Along with undergraduate classes in education, Evans teaches many counseling education courses for Westminster College's Graduate Program. Evans earned his undergraduate degree from the Pennsylvania State University, his master's degree from Youngstown State University, and his Ph.D. from Kent State University.
