Westminster College Student Presentations Close Bleasby Colloquium

Seven Westminster College students read their original poetry to close the Bleasby Colloquium for this year.

Jennifer Ombres is a daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Mario Ombres, 3080 Ridge Road Ext., Freedom. Ombres, an English major, is a graduate of Quigley High School. Her original poems included From the Tops of Balconies, What I Know About Jeff, and Going Home.

Lani Nuss is a daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Kent Nuss, 237 Hemlock Road, Trafford. Nuss, an English major, is a graduate of Penn-Trafford High School. Her original poems included Rooted and Crust.

Diane Stead is a daughter of Patricia McDonough, 1705 Cedar Ave., Turtle Creek. Stead, an English and art major, is a graduate of Woodland Hills High School. Her original poems included Teeth Clank White Bone, Slip, and 799.

Eleanor Campbell is a daughter of Loretta Cambell, 600 Cornell Ave. Ext., Pittsburgh. Campbell, a public relations major, is a graduate of North Hills High School. Her original poems included Train and Hallmark Card for the Year 2000.

Scott Hauser is a son of Mr. & Mrs. Doug Hauser, R.D. 1, Mount Pleasant. Hauser, a business administration and English major, is a graduate of Mount Pleasant Area High School. His poems included Fall Classics and other unnamed selections.

Jessica Toy is a daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Donald Toy, 170 Elliot Road, Sarver. Toy, an English major, is a graduate of Freeport Area High School. Her original poems included The Interstice between Breathing, Details, Reflections, and From a Balcony.

Benjamin Tate is a son of Mr. & Mrs. John Tate, 4526 Blue Sky Court N.E., Salem, Ore. Tate, an English major, is a graduate of North Salem High School. His original poems included, Blink, Rain Shadows, Tolling Time, and Thanksgiving in Maine.

This event is part of a series of literary events in honor of Dr. George Bleasby who chaired the Department of English at Westminster from 1954-75.
