Westminster College to Host Economic Expert from Russia

The Westminster College Career Center will host Dr. Alexander Bulatove, an economic expert from Russia, Friday, May 4, at 12:50 p.m., in the Walton-Mayne Student Union lounge.

Bulatov, chair of world economy at MGIMO University, Moscow, Russia, will speak about Russia's emerging economy and on his current research on capital flight at the Kennan Institute in Washington, D.C., which focuses on the problem of the regulation of outward investment in Russia. He is currently working on a book on the international capital movement, which will be published in Russia next year.

Bulatov has previously served as the research officer at the Institute for External Economic Relations under the Russian Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, a research officer at the United States and Canada Studies Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and as a scientific editor for the Russian Foreign Trade Journal.
