Bleasby poetry reading will feature Westminster alumna

As part of the Bleasby Colloquia Series, the Westminster College Department of English will present a poetry reading featuring Westminster alumna Sam Killmeyer ’12 at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 26, in the Cultural Center located in McKelvey Campus Center on Westminster’s campus.  

Killmeyer will read from her new book of poetry titled “Again the Grass Again the Wind” published by Dancing Girl Press. Her poems have appeared in several distinguished journals including Rattle, Coal Hill Review, Kindred, Chicago Quarterly Review, JMWW, Pith Magazine and OVS.

Killmeyer received her undergraduate degree in English and was a part of the Westminster College Honors Program. She earned an M.A. in creative writing and literature at Kansas State University, as well as an M.F.A. in creative writing at Colorado State University.

The George Bleasby Colloquia series of literary events is an event in honor of the late Dr. Bleasby, who chaired the Westminster College Department of English from 1954-1975. These programs are presentations by department faculty, featured speakers, and majors on individual scholarship, interests and creative projects.
