Open Door Reflection - Chapel Worship - Mondays & Fridays
Westminster College holds chapel every Monday and Friday at 11:40 a.m. Though attendance is not mandatory campus activities cease for this half hour so that students, faculty, administration, and staff can come to the Wallace Memorial Chapel for this service. These services typically include, songs, scripture, and a message. The messages are delivered by members of the senior class, faculty/staff, guest speakers, or Rev. Jim Mohr, College Chaplain. Open Door at the Half - Prayer and Reflections
Wednesdays from 11:40 AM to 12:10 PM is set aside as a time for reflection, meditation and personal prayer in the Wallace Memorial Chapel.
There is also scheduled Daily Quiet Time for prayer and meditation from 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM.
Open Door Worship - Sunday Night Vespers
Sunday evenings at 7:00 PM Westminster students and members of the community gather for an hour long non-denominational worship service. These services include prayers, contemporary and traditional songs, music by one of the college choirs (Concert, Men's, Women's, Chamber Ensemble, Gospel, Handbells) and a message by Rev. Jim Mohr, College Chaplain or invited guests. Holy Communion is served once a month in Vespers. The weekly schedule of speakers can be found by going to the Chapel and Vesper Speakers. A special Christmas Vespers service is held in Orr Auditorium the Sunday evening prior to the Fall Semester Final Exams. There are no services while Westminster College is not in session.
Saturday Night Roman Catholic Mass
Saturday evenings at 7:00 PM Westminster students and members of the community gather for Catholic Mass in Wallace Memorial Chapel. In addition we provide opportunities for worship on Holy Days of Obligation at 5:00 PM in the Chapel. Students are often called upon to assist with Mass. There are no services while Westminster College is not in session. Fr. Thomas Lewandowski of St. Camillus Church parish in New Castle, PA is the campus priest.
Special Worship Opportunities - Wondering, Wandering Worship
WWW is a program sponsored by the Chapel Office to give students an opportunity to see and experience different faith and worshipping communities. The group meets with representatives of the faith communitiy prior to the worship experience and then reflects together on the experience on the way back to campus. All Westminster Students and Staff are invited to participate in the opportunities at no charge unless the gruop stops for a meal. Transportation is provided but space is limited, sign-ups will be through the Chapel Office (MCC 223) and during worship services. If you have any questions, please contact Rev.
