About Me


Dr. Merrick teaches Public Speaking, Interpersonal Communication, Communication Ethics, and Business and Professional Communication, among other courses. Her main areas of research are in communication ethics, family studies, and faith and communication. Dr. Merrick is the adviser to the Coalition for the Protection of the Unborn, Lambda Pi Eta (the Communication Honor Society), and Kappa Delta. Prior to teaching at Westminster College, she taught at Duquesne University and was a consultant for Pennsylvania Psychological Services where she did corporate consulting, counseling, and forensic psychological evaluations. She holds undergraduate and graduate degrees in Existential Phenomenological Psychology and a doctorate in Rhetoric and Philosophy of Communication from Duquesne University. Dr. Merrick is blessed to have a wonderful husband, Ryan, and five amazing children.
