About Me

I started teaching at Westminster College in 2016 and have worked in the field of design for over 10 years. As the field of design and video continues to change, I keep up with current creative practices through my personal business, KHart Designs. Through the connections with clients and other designers I am able to convert these experiences into teachings for students. Making these connections also provides guest speaking opportunities in a classroom setting and a chance for students to hear about experiences from working professionals.

It is my teaching philosophy is that creative media production must include hands-on learning opportunities and experiences. Storytelling is an important element in creative field and can make the difference between a successful campaign and one that falls flat. Creative media is not just about making something that looks pleasing to the eye, it is about solving problems and reaching your target audience. An open environment for creativity builds on this idea, along with teaching foundational research and writing skills in relation to creative media, providing students the ability to respond to problems with confidence.
