Visual arts distinguishes those arts which are nonverbal in character and which communicate by means of symbols and the juxtaposition of formal elements. Visual arts include: pictoral arts, such as painting, drawing, graphic arts, photography, and mosaics; plastic arts, such as sculpture, cameo, relief, and planographic; building arts; and minor arts, such as ceramics, glass, metals, textiles, ivory, and woods. Art resources are housed in both McGill Library and Mack Science Library.
