Westminster Produces 54 Athletes on Spring Academic Honor Roll

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - The Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) recognized 54 Westminster College student-athletes who were named to the PAC Spring 2014 Academic Honor Roll.

The PAC Academic Honor Roll recognizes student-athletes on varsity sports teams who have earned a grade-point average (GPA) of 3.6 or higher on a 4.0 scale during their semester of competition. A total of 461 student-athletes from the 10-league schools were recognized.   

The following is a listing of the 54 Westminster student-athletes recognized on the PAC Spring 2014 Academic Honor Roll:

Under the direction of second-year head coach Tim Mulligan, the Titans finished 11-24 overall and 8-15 in PAC games for a 7th-place (tie) finish.
Riemer and Reinthaler Recognized at PAC Scholar-Athlete Awards Banquet
CRANBERRY TWP., Pa. -The Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) hosted its inaugural Scholar-Athlete of the Year Banquet earlier this week. Senior volleyball player Rebecca Riemer (Pittsburgh, PA / Mount Lebanon) and senior baseball player Nicholas Reinthaler (Canfield, OH / Canfield) were honored as the Westminster recipients.

Baseball: Jones Leads Titan All-PAC Honorees
GREENVILLE, Pa.  - The Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) announced its 2014 All-PAC Baseball teams, as voted on by each of the league's nine head coaches, on Tuesday. Three Titans were selected, led by junior outfielder John Jones (New Wilmington, PA / Ligonier Valley) who was named first team All-PAC. Junior catcher Jake Haubrich (North Huntingdon, Pa. / Norwin) and senior pitcher Scott Hanicak (Ellwood City, Pa. / Laurel) were named honorable mention All-PAC. This marked the first All-PAC honor for all three student-athletes.  
Westminster Celebrates 2013-14 Athletic Accomplishments at WESPY Awards
NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - The Westminster College Department of Athletics and the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) hosted the 11th Annual WESPY Awards (Westminster Exceptional Sports Performances of the Year) Tuesday night at Orr Auditorium. The WESPYs honored team MVPs for all 18 varsity sports teams, as well as several annual awards and recognition of top athletic achievements throughout the 2013-14 academic year.

WAYNESBURG, Pa. - The Westminster College baseball team was swept in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) doubleheader at Waynesburg on Saturday. The Titans lost game one, 15-0, and game two, 17-5.

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - The Westminster College baseball team lost, 11-3, to Waynesburg in Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) action on Senior Day on Friday.
