Men's Soccer: Titans Fall, 1-0, to Geneva in Physical Match

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - The Westminster College men's soccer team snapped a two-game winning streak as it lost, 1-0, to Geneva at Harold Burry Stadium on Saturday. The Titans dropped to 7-8-1 overall and 2-1-1 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC), while the Golden Tornadoes improved to 6-7-2 overall and 1-3 in the conference.

The lone goal of the game came in the 13th minute when Geneva's Sean Bernardi found the back of the net after receiving a cross in the box. Jesse Herman and Alexander Rosenbaum earned the assists.

Titan junior Dan Bishop (Burlington, NJ / Holy Cross) had a chance for the equalizer in the 73rd minute but Geneva made the save.

Geneva outshot Westminster 8-5, while the Titans had a 4-3 shot-advantage in the second half. There was a total of 31 fouls, while Westminster had four corner kicks and Geneva had none.

Titan senior goalie Joe Bonish (Newport News, VA / Woodside) got the loss and went to 3-3-1 on the season. Bonish had two saves in a complete-game effort.

Westminster will travel to Waynesburg on Wednesday with a starting time of 8 p.m.
