NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - The Westminster College Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) today selected softball senior Chelsea Brown (New Castle, PA / Mohawk) as its SAAC Titan Athlete of the Week for the week of April 15.
The Titan senior pitcher was dominant on the mound with three victories and a stellar earned run average of 0.82 for the week. Brown appeared in 17 innings and only gave up two earned runs and struck out a team-high 25 batters and walked just one. In addition to pitching, Brown was a force at the plate as she batted .583 (7-12) for the week, with a team high eight RBIs. Brown had four doubles on the week, two runs scored, and a stolen base.
Brown's performance over the week led to her being chosen as PAC Softball Pitcher of the Week.
Westminster will face Geneva today at home today at 3:30 pm.
