The Westminster College baseball team finished 5-5 in its spring training trip to Fort Pierce, Florida. The team started out 4-0 on the trip, including two convincing wins versus Martin Luther to open the week. Junior Chris Ross (West Pittsburg, PA / New Castle) led the team by batting .485 (16-33) and had a team-high nine RBIs. Senior pitcher Vince Iosue (Euclid, OH / Notre Dame Cathedral Latin) led the pitchers with a 0.00 ERA and picked up a win during the spring training week. Senior Ethan Yeager (Pottstown, PA / Owen J. Roberts) also finished the week batting .412 (14-34) with two doubles and six RBIs.

The Westminster College softball team finished 3-7 at the 2012 Rebel Games in Kissimmee, Florida. Sophomore second baseman Kelsey Squelch (Pittsburgh, PA / Perry Traditional) led the Lady Titans by batting .370 (10-27) and had a team-high seven RBIs. Junior pitcher Chelsea Brown (New Castle, PA / Mohawk) started five games, pitched 27 innings, and had 21 strikeouts on the week.

The Westminster College men's tennis team went 0-4 on their spring break trip, but they played some very good competition. "We played some of the best if not the best tennis I've seen us play in the past two years," said veteran head coach Scott Renninger. "We pushed their kids in some matches. We gave good account of ourselves in the matches." The Westminster College men's tennis team wrapped up its Spring Trip with a 7-2 loss against Juniata College. Juniors Brad Thomas (Warren, OH / Champion) and Ryan Carr (Cheektowaga, NY / Cheektowaga Central) earned the wins for the Titans in the fourth and fifth singles, respectively.

MEN'S GOLF

The Westminster College men's golf team shot a team score of 327 in tough weather conditions at the par 72, 6,742-yard Love Course at the Barefoot Resort & Golf on Tuesday. They finished in second place in a quad-match versus Baldwin Wallace, Point Park, and Marywood. The Titans were led by junior Andrew Edwards (Aliquippa, PA / Hopewell) who shot a 77 (36, 41) on the day.

WOMEN'S TENNIS (18-0, 9-0 PAC)

The Westminster College women's tennis team finished their 2011-12 season undefeated, 18-0, following three wins in Hilton Head Island, S.C. Westminster topped Trine 6-3, Catholic University, 5-4, and Juniata, 8-1. In the fall, the Lady Titans finished in second place in the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) championships. Junior Alex Bailey (Murrysville, Pa./Franklin Regional) was crowned the PAC champion at No. 2 singles and also won her three respective matches in South Carolina this week, totaling her record to a perfect 21-0 in the number two singles spot. Bailey and sophomore Caitlin Hosler (Lititz, PA / Manheim Central) finish the season with an impressive 20-1 mark in No. 1 doubles. Westminster is eligible for an at-large berth in the NCAA Division III Championships in the spring.

MEN'S and WOMEN's OUTDOOR TRACK & FIELD

The Westminster College outdoor track and field team kicked off its season at the Coastal Carolina Invitational against Division I, II, and III competition this past weekend. For the women's team, senior Emily Dolsak (McDonald, OH / McDonald) led the way placing fourth in the discus throw with a mark of 40.32 meters. On the men's side, junior Adam Carswell (Painesville, OH / Notre Dame Cathedral Latin) placed seventh in the 400-meter dash with a time of 50.35. In the 1500-meter run, sophomore Aaron Sutton (Warren, OH / Howland) finished 15th (4:08.44).
