NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - The Westminster College women's soccer team lost, 3-0, at home to Houghton College in both teams' season opener on Friday.
Houghton, who is ranked No. 6 in the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) Division I Preseason Poll, scored all three goals in the second half and all were off the foot of Stephany Ellison. Ellison, an NCCAA All-American and Empire 8 Offensive Player of the Year last year, scored in the 53rd, 75th, and 87th minute of the game.
First-year Titan Laura Page (Bethel Park, PA / Bethel Park) got the nod for her first collegiate start at goalie and gave up three goals and collected two saves.
The Titans will host Marietta (0-1) tomorrow at Harold Burry Stadium at 4:30 p.m.
