Men's and Women's Tennis: Westminster Teams Honored by ITA for Academics

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - The Westminster College men's and women's tennis programs have earned recognition for academic performance by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA). The Titan men's and women's tennis teams were named 2012 ITA All-Academic Teams for having team grade point averages of 3.2 or higher for the 2011-12 school year, while five individuals earned ITA Scholar-Athlete status.

Westminster tennis players who earned a varsity letter in 2011-12, have at least a 3.5 grade point average, and have attended their current school for at least two semesters were eligible for ITA Scholar-Athlete recognition.

They included seniors Dana Griesmer (Canfield, Ohio/Canfield) and Lauren Latinovich (Venetia, Pa./Peters Township) and junior Jane Larson (Warren, Pa./Warren) of the women's team, and freshman Mark Andino (Norwalk, CT / Norwalk) and junior Sean Black (Aurora, OH / Aurora) of the men's team.

The teams are coached by Scott Renninger who enters his 14th year as the men's coach and eighth year as the women's coach in 2012-13.
