Last Week's Results:
02/21/2012 6:00 PM at Bethany, L, 52-71

Current W/L Streak: L/1

The Westminster College women's basketball team fell short to the Bethany Bison on the road 71-52 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Quarterfinal matchup. Eight different Titans recorded points in the contest and Katie Hughes (Boardman, OH / Cardinal Mooney) led the way with 11 points. Sophomore Gabby Holko (Pittsburgh, PA / Mount Alvernia) added nine points as she hit two three-pointers. Senior Emily Dolsak (McDonald, OH / McDonald) scored six points and grabbed a game-high five rebounds. The Titans ended the season with a 9-17 overall record and finished fifth in the PAC with a 9-9 conference record. The nine wins in the PAC are the most the Titans have had since the 2006-07 season.

Sophomore Courtney Zitt (Latrobe, PA / Greater Latrobe) was named to the 2012 All-PAC Honorable Mention team, she is the first sophomore to win a postseason award for Westminster since the 2004-05 season.

MEN'S TENNIS (0-2, 0-0 PAC)

The Westminster College men's tennis team traveled to Mount Union on Friday. The Titans lost 8-1. In third doubles, the pair of juniors Marshall Finelli (Girard, OH / Ursuline) and Ryan Carr (Cheektowaga, NY / Cheektowaga Central) won 8-6. In fifth singles, Carr lost the first set (3-6), won the second set (6-3) and fell deep in the late set (11-13).

BASEBALL (0-0, 0-0 PAC)

In 2011, the Titans finished 25-16 (10-11 PAC), and they look to build on a very successful season. The 25 wins the team had last year, tied a record for second most all time in the program. The Titans will play five double-headers in Fort Pierce, Fla. during March 4-9. The Titans will face Martin Luther College (New Ulm, Mn.) March 4, Lebanon Valley College (Annville, Pa.) March 5, Elizabethtown College (Elizabethtown, Pa.) March 7, Marywood University (Scranton, Pa.) March 8, and Susquehanna University (Selinsgrove, Pa.) March 8.

SOFTBALL (0-0, 0-0 PAC)

The Titans compiled a 19-16 record in 2011, including an 11-5 mark for third place in the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) standings. Westminster returns six starters from last year in the field, including junior shortstop Katie Hughes (Boardman, OH / Cardinal Mooney) who led the team with a .345 (38-110) batting average as a sophomore. Hughes was also a first team All-PAC member in 2011 with seven home runs (second in PAC) and 19 RBI's. Westminster will play in the Rebel Games from March 4-9 in Kissimmee, Florida.
