H. Vail Barrett '73 Presents "A Voice Among the Silent" Documentary & Talk, Nov. 7

All are welcomed to the showing of "A Voice Among the Silent,” a documentary featuring the story of James G. McDonald who met and warned the world about Adolf Hitler and his threat to civilization. A brief introduction to the film will be provided by H. Vail Barrett, Ambassador McDonald's grandson and a 1973 graduate of Westminster College. Barrett will also make a series of in-class presentations during his two-day stay at Westminster.

Westminster Students and Faculty Present at the National Conference for Undergraduate Research

Eight Westminster students attended and presented at the National Conference on Undergraduate Research (NCUR) at the University of Memphis in Tennessee the weekend of April 6-8th. The students all received funding from the Drinko Center for Undergraduate Research to attend the conference.

The History Club Visits the Frick Center and Speaks with a Westminster Alumna

On Saturday, February 25, the Westminster History Interest Group (WHIG) sponsored a trip to the Frick Art and Historical Center. Students toured Clayton, the restored Pittsburgh home of Henry Clay Frick, and spoke with Westminster alumna Lynn Rice '10 about her public history work as Systems and Data Manager.

Cuff to Chair SSHA's Presidential Book Award Selection Committee in Montreal, Quebec Canada

Dr. Timothy Cuff, professor of history and chair of the division of social sciences and humanities, has been chosen by the Social Science History Association's (SSHA) publication committee to chair the SSHA’s Presidential Book Award Selection Committee in 2017.  This is Cuff’s second time to hold this position in the organization.

Honors Students Experience the Rigors of Monastic Life

Westminster College honors students spent a weekend at a Monastery in Mohawk, New York this past November learning more about monastic life. The trip was part of an honors course that Dr. Russell Martin, Professor of History, is teaching this semester on Eastern Orthodox Christianity.
