NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - The Westminster College Department of Music will present its annual new music concert, "Voices from Within 5," at 3 p.m. Saturday, May 3, in Will W. Orr Auditorium. The concert is free and open to the public.

The concert will feature performances of several compositions by Westminster students and faculty. The concert is comprised of 10 original works for groups ranging in size from single solo artists to small ensembles.

Students participating in this year's concert include Brandon Gaughan, Ben Grove, Laura Harris, Cody Ortz, and Emily Raines. These students have studied composition with Westminster professors Dr. Daniel Perttu and Dr. Jason Howard. Dr. Perttu and Dr. Howard will also have pieces performed on this concert.

This annual concert series was started in 2010 by Perttu, Westminster College assistant professor of music theory and composition, as a way to both promote the creation of new music and showcase the talent of Westminster's student composers. This concert series has featured numerous guest composers and artists.
